הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם the heavens
haš-šā-ma-yim
וְאֵ֥ת and
wə-’êṯ
הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the earth
hā-’ā-reṣ.
As we look at Genesis 1:1 in the Hebrew one will
notice the structure, 7 words, yet looking at the English translation the
middle Hebrew word has no translation into the English.
I have heard there is no translation of the “et” into
English as the reason for this, correct or not.
Yet as we look at the letters in Hebrew we notice a
striking aspect, the word is made up of the 1st and Last letters of
the Hebrew alphabet.
