Perilous Times (covid fear) 62
As we look at the American/NATO sudden withdrawal from Afghanistan we see a picture on a limited scale of what I believe will be a worldwide phenomenon in the future. We have witnessed a vacuum created and filled almost instantaneously with the withdrawal of the “good” being replaced by what is undeniably evil.
Is there a parallel in the Bible?
Are we seeing a picture of what the world will be like with the removal of the “restrainer” 2 Thes 2.6-8? An event which happens suddenly with the removal of that which is “good” (is this the restraining influence of the true Church of Christ) being replaced with that which is inherently evil “the man of sin”?
I see the parallel, do you?
3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.--- 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back (restrains) will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.
